Lee Cates Legacy Scholarship

The Lee Cates Legacy scholarship is awarded annually to a senior who exhibits outstanding service and leadership qualities, who is involved in community and school service, and who displays qualities of high moral principles. The applicant must be a member of the National Honor Society and must be active in a religious organization of his/her choice. This scholarship exists to recognize Conway High school seniors who exemplify the characteristics of scholarship, leadership, school and community service and character. The scholarship is given in memory of Mr. Lee Cates, a 2006 honor graduate of Conway High School. The scholarship award amount is $1,000 to the selected candidate.


Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • The student may be male or female.
  • The student should be a recognized servant leader on campus, having served in numerous service opportunities and leadership roles and involvement.
  • The student should be a member of the National Honor Society with no indications/evidence of serious discipline incidents.
  • The student should have a record of community service outside of school activities.
  • The candidate must be actively involved in a church and/or religious organization of his/her choice.


*Qualified candidates will be invited to interview with a selection committee comprised of family members and/or friends of Lee Cates, members of the Conway High School faculty, and members of the community.
